Wednesday, August 18, 2021 — During the 5:00 PM news hour, Los Angeles TV stations began broadcasting helicopter images of the new Loma Linda University Medical Center’s Adult Emergency Department on the Dennis and Carol Troesh Medical Campus. There were ambulances and a heavy presence of law enforcement vehicles. Fellow officers could be seen standing outside the ER waiting to learn the status of two San Bernardino police officers who had been wounded in an altercation with an alleged suspect in connection to an ambush shooting in San Bernardino that was related to a traffic stop. Today’s tragic incident is the first major media coverage where the new Loma Linda University Medical Center has been featured.
