A Walkabout on the 17th Floor (Roof) of the Adult Hospital Tower Plus a Bonus

The 360 View is Not Only Spectacular But Breathtaking

Now that the lower half of the 17th floor (the roof) of the Adult Hospital tower has been poured, I have spent some time wandering around gathering in the sights and sounds from above. Currently, there are a few carpenters, welders, pipe fitters, and other laborers working high above the campus life 17 stories below.

At this level: where the sun rays are a bit more harsh, the gentle avian breezes provide the lift for the ever curious ravens and an occasional sharp-eyed red-tailed hawk.

This is the view one is greeted to when exiting the lift. The central core or elevator tower is center left. It rises 18 plus stories above grade.
At the opposite end facing east. The air quality is not the best.
Facing west from the step out: I never thought in my lifetime that the iconic cloverleaf towers would look so insignificant.
The upper level (the elevator tower) of the 17th floor.

The Bonus: High Above the Adult Hospital Tower Roof (Floor 17) as Seen Through the Lens of a 360 Camera Attached to a GFRC Panel

The camera (inside the circle ) was attached to the metal frame of the GFRC panel.
The panel is lifted off of the flatbed by a smaller telescopic crane, which will stabilize the panel vertically before the large crane takes the panel on its journey high over the Adult Hospital tower and set in place on the east side of the Elevator Tower. The photo inset is a larger image of the camera attached (white circle) to the GFRC Panel frame
After being stabilized, the GFRC panel begins its journey up and over the Adult Hospital tower. The two ropes hanging from the panel are for the setup crew to use as they turn the panel to slide into place.
In the upper right corner is the roof of the podium, at the center left is the flatbed from which the panel was lifted.
The panel begins the journey across the roof of the Adult Hospital tower.
A GFRC panel is swung high over the Adult Hospital tower and will be lowered into place on southend of the elevator tower.
The panel is approaching the opening where it will be placed. It will be turned around 180 degrees before it is slid into place.
The GFRC panel makes the turn to line up with the Elevator Tower frame.
As the panel was turned it tilted and caught the south eastern side of the Adult Hospital tower. The photo was rotated so that the image would be plumb vertically.
The GFRC panel is carefully moved ever so closely to the steel frame by a crew on the 11th floor and a crew on the 14th floor.
The close tolerance maneuvering begins the vertical and horizontal alignment.
On the 14th floor the panel is carefully adjusted to meet the specifications.
Looking back at the 14th floor the panel has been set, and the the workmen are disconnecting the cable.
