Memorial Day 2020

Memorial Day 2020

“Patriotism is not short, frenzied outburts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.”

– Adlai Stevenson

“Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.”

– Mark Twain

Because the planes didn’t cooperate by flying over Loma Linda University Health in a tighter formation and a little lower, I had to work some magic with photoshop to get most of the airplanes in the flyover in the above frame. All in all it was a spectacular sight.
Below the west end side of Lawton Avenue, where the road ends in the Loma Linda Hills, we could look down on parking Structure P4 and the sixth level and see all the onlookers waiting for the flyover.
The first formation to flyover was made up of: three (3) C-47s left to right. and the top plane on the right is a C-53 “D-Day Doll” based in Riverside, California.
The top plane is a a C-53 “D-Day Doll,” which is based in Riverside, California. The lower plane is a C-47.

A T-6 World War II trainer, I think.
Old World War II T-6 Trainers, I believe.
Memorial Day 2020 ends with a new moon hanging to the right of the Adult Hospital tower.

  1. […] The highlight of Memorial Day on the Loma Linda University Health campus was the flyover of. vintage planes, which took place a little after twelve noon on Monday, May 25, 2020. The feature image for this week’s blog is of four plane flying in formation over the east valley as they approached the campus.
