The Week of October 26, 2020 — Despite High Winds, Brush Fires, Power Outages, COVID-19; Work In and Around the Dennis and Carol Troesh Medical Campus Ramps Up.

The featured image for this blog is one that is close to everyone’s stomach — the Cafeteria, which is really taking shape as the project nears the end. The Cafeteria and Dining room are located on the first floor in the northeast corner of the podium.

Landscaping of the site has begun. Last week a few boxed trees had arrived. Today, more boxed trees were being offloaded. At the corner of Anderson Street and Barton Road, a number of boxed trees had been lowered into place. Things are moving along.

The Northeast Corner

The large Vestibule off of the north east-west corridor that dog legs left into the Gift Shop (windows and doors center left). The corridor also leads to the Grand Hallway through the double doors at the right. The Grand Hallway connects the new building with the existing structure.

After graduate school Dennis accepted a position at Loma Linda University. He worked there for 42 years in the areas of administration and financial management, also teaching accounting and management to dietetic students at the School of Public Health. Through the years Dennis has chronicled the growth of the campus, including the construction of the Drayson Center and the Centennial Complex and the razing of Gentry Gym.
