May 31, 2020 — The Last Day of May, and the Last Post for the Week of May 25. The Pandemic Continues and to Make Matters Worse: Protests, Looting, and Violence Have Erupted in Many Major US Cities.
The blog for the week of May 25, 2020, has been extended to include May 31, the last day of May. The featured image for this post is of a Medical Flight Helicopter taking off from the north helipad. The helicopter is framed by the boom and stick of an excavator, which had been placed at the northeast corner of the building in preparation for a project beginning sometime Monday morning, June 1, 2020.
Unfortunately, May 31, 2020, ended with two situations that has gripped and disrupted the nation. The first, the Pandemic is in its twelfth week, which the nation is trying to rise above in various stages. The second are the disruptive protests, looting, and violence that are disrupting the good intentions of the peaceful protesters. Sadly, this fury has spread to many of the major cities across the United States and as of Sunday night there is no end in sight.
Regrettably, these two major events impact our social fabric and must be included in the story that will be woven into the Loma Linda University Health Campus Transformation Project tapestry.
