This has been a CRAZY week! The week began on Sunday, August 16, 2020, when the two MRI machines were delivered and placed in the scan rooms on the second floor. The exciting event can be found at the following link: The Install of the Two MRI Machines — A Highly- Anticipated Event

On Monday, a crew continued to compact the east parking lot and the upper drive base in anticipation of the asphalt companies arrival early Tuesday morning. Just south of the east parking lot, rebar, a footings were being set for concrete to be poured by Tuesday. To the north, the steel frames for the Main Entrance Canopy continued to be set.

A brilliant sunrise greeted us on Monday morning.

The East Parking Lot and Upper Drive Update — August 17, 2020

Upon entering the east gate off of Anderson Street, I could see that the water truck had just soaked the upper drive above the east parking lot. This section of the drive is the first to have asphalt put down. Up ahead another section extending the first will dog-leg to the right is currently being surveyed, excavated, and compacted.

The East Parking Lot and Upper Drive Update — August 20, 2020

The More Things Change, They Remain the Same. Sometimes, They Just Move Around.

By Thursday morning, pods, dumpsters, equipment, porta potties had been stationed in the parking lot. Apparently, the parking lot will be used as a staging area for the contractors who have been using the south side. The southside equipment, pods, etc. must be moved as the surveyor’s and earth movers need to begin work on excavation, compaction, and grading for the driveways and parking lots.
From the south slope, one can see a forklift lowering a pod in front of the porta potties.

Subgrade Stabilization of the East/West Driveway

The Main Entrance Canopy Trellises

In these four frames illustrates how one of the steel trellises (center) is moved into position.

Each steel trellis will be welded together at the tip of each arm creating one massive trellis on which the canopy will rest.
