The Week of September 28, 2020 — “The Project is Nearing an End”

The featured image for this week is a literal sign (located on a wall in one of the second-floor corridors) which is a major indicator that the project is nearing the end. This directional sign is located on the second floor.

“The project is nearing the end.” These were the words of one of the men on site today, and I had to agree with him. As I walked around the building and toured some of the floors, I too had that feeling. Everywhere I went, there were signs — yes, literal signs — that the project was coming to a close. Other indicators that the project is winding down include the following: 1) Curbs and gutters are being poured; 2) final grade is being carved out on the northwest and north side areas; 3) Three construction trailers were removed from the northeast side of the building; 4) Stairwells are being painted; 5) Shoe Booties are required on many of the floors; 6) Room-by-Room, technicians are balancing the HVAC airflow per specs; 7) Painters are applying final coats of paint while others in their crew make the rounds doing last-minute touchup.

A Shout Out to Those Who Labor at the Loma Linda University Health Campus Transformation Project

As the doors to rooms, hallways and corridors are installed on the various floors technicians come in and test/balance the airflow pressure. I ran into these technicians on the second floor in the Emergency Department.
