LLUH Ceremonial Topping Off Ceremony — The Video

This 9 minute. 54 second video was taken with a Yl 4k Action Camera attached to a small tripod. The video features the signature beam rising from the northeast corner of the building and swinging above the 16th floor toward the helipad ramp before being lowered to its intended target. On the 16th floor deck were: the ironworkers Shayne and Kenny who hung the signature beam; Brent, the erection foreman; Corey, the phone operator who was in constant contact with the crane operator; “Yosemite” Sam, a Schuff Steel safety officer; and yours truly. the project photographer and documentarian.

After graduate school Dennis accepted a position at Loma Linda University. He worked there for 42 years in the areas of administration and financial management, also teaching accounting and management to dietetic students at the School of Public Health. Through the years Dennis has chronicled the growth of the campus, including the construction of the Drayson Center and the Centennial Complex and the razing of Gentry Gym.
